The Sarmiento Heritage Foundation, Inc. is promoting the protection and conservation of the environment. It has also a junk material recycling project, and water and energy conservation campaign.
Waste Recycling Project
Newspaper, plastic and glass bottles and aluminum can fund drive has been launched in Rizal Province and Metro Manila. These recyclable materials can be donated to the foundation.
Water and Energy Conservation Campaign
The foundation encourages residents of Rizal to join in its water and energy conservation campaign. It also extends this campaign to Pangasinan.

Eco-Tourism Awareness Campaign
The foundation is exploring the coasts of Laguna Lake along Rizal Province and Agno Bay in Pangasinan to help the residents preserve the coastal areas as eco-tourism areas.
Laguna Lake is the second largest inland freshwater body in Southeast Asia after Lake Toba in Sumatra, Indonesia. SHFI is encouraging then the residents of the coastal towns of Rizal to support the foundation in its environmental protection campaign.
Sabangan Beach, the home of the famous natural umbrella rocks, in Agno Pangasinan, is a potential destination of nature-lovers and tourists in western Pangasinan. The foundation is very interested to help protect these natural rocks and beaches of Agno.
